The CF Network Monitor project provides a way for system administrators to monitor the status of Windows and Linux servers and carry our proactive alerting and corrective actions.

This is a brand new project and is in it's infancy but the first release will have the ability to:

* Monitor Windows and Linux server uptime
* Restart services
* Log uptime history

The system will comprise of two elements, a core collection unit and a remote agent. Communication between the systems will be via a secure xml transfer protocol that will not require the opening of any "dangerous" ports or expose services unnecessarily.
